What Will You Give Me If I Deliver Him To You?
“Then one of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, ‘What will you give me if I deliver him to you? And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him.” Matthew 26: 14-16
Jesus knew Judas would betray him. He shared this knowledge with his disciples during the Last Supper.
Soon, he would be handed over to his accusers, to those who would crucify him.
He didn’t stop what was to come; his task was at hand.
He would lay down his life for ours. He would pay our debt of sin. He would fulfill the holy scriptures.
God’s world would never be the same: ours was forever changed by Christ’s love.
Praise you, Lord Jesus!
All is well. Alleluia!
