Thy Mercy, O LORD, Held Me Up
Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up. Psalms 94: 17-18
In our emptiness, when we plead for God’s presence, when we cry out for his care and comfort, when we are spent from this world, no matter how deep the abandonment feels, our Lord is here; he will give us rest.
His word is truth. He is with us, as is the Holy Spirit indwelling. This is his abiding merciful love that we should never wander alone.
May we offer praise to our Father in the storm, through the tears of our failings and anguish, knowing God loves us enough to never abandon us though all we face on this side of eternity.
All is well. Alleluia!
