When Ye Pray
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathenĀ do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. Matthew 6:7-8
Our good good Father knows what we need before we utter a word.
He says to come to him in our need, to ask of him anything, yet his wisdom and understanding of our need proceeds our prayers, our pleadings.
Why then should we ask of God?
For communion with the One who knit us in our mother’s womb. To build our wandering faith. To witness the manifestation of his word despite our doubt. To lay our brokenness at his throne for redemption.
Ask and believe that his will shall be done, nay, is already done.
Come to God, through Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Only then will you discern that you are his beloved in every way, cared for and loved for eternity.
All is well. Alleluia!
