I Know That Thou Canst Do Every Thing
“I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.” Job 42:2
Job speaks to us still; he is our ancestor of redemption through faith in our pit of despair.
In our brokenness, may we never condemn God so that we might deem ourselves righteous. His ways are not ours. His wisdom and understanding are above ours. He can do everything – we can do nothing.
God is in our midst, whether we believe or not. God is working a good work, whether we see or not. God is offering his hope, his mercy and grace, his love, whether we accept it or not.
Father, in our wretched moments, close our mouths to evil, to our own wisdom and understanding. Open our hearts, minds, and bodies to you alone.
We know you can do every thing and that no thought is withheld from you.
All is well. Alleluia!
