I Afflicted Myself With Fasting; And My Prayer Returned Into My Own Bosom
“But I, when they were ill, put on sackcloth; I afflicted myself with fasting and poured forth prayers within my bosom.” Psalm 35:13
Let us remember to humble ourselves before our Creator.
Reading on in Psalm 35:10-16 we see that it speaks to praying for those who mock us, who plot evil against us, as we mourn their actions.
A brother, a sister, those closest to our hearts, strangers gathered against us, yet we pray on for their needs.
We are called to this purpose – to pray for the hard, for the hurt, for the unexplained. We are called to love as we want to be loved, as God himself loves us.
Humble your soul. Pray for those who betray you, who mock you, who plot evil against you.
Humble your soul. Pray. Have faith. The results belong to God. Amen.
All is well. Alleluia!
