Dearly Beloved, Avenge Not Yourselves
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Romans 12:19
God is the God of all: peace, mercy, love, grace, and vengeance for his people. His word is clear: we are not to repay evil with evil. We are to love one another, being at peace with one another as much as possible. We are to wait on God to avenge every evil visited upon us.
Instead of satisfying our desire to return hurt for hurt, let us pray for the souls of those who bruise us, curse us, betray us, and seek to harm us. May their souls turn to seek the face of God. May they come to know Jesus in every way. May this day bring to them their very salvation.
Rest, knowing our vindication is in the hands of Almighty God. Go forth in peace.
All is well. Alleluia!
