But He Was Wounded For Our Transgressions
“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
The horrific torture and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, bearing our remorseful sins to his death and resurrection, is overwhelming to deeply contemplate.
He was mercilessly beaten and knowingly poured out his blood for us. He bore the stripes of our wrongdoing and, miraculously and mercifully, we are healed.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Father, forgive us, your foolish children. Your Son, our Lord Jesus, was the final sacrifice, and his healing blood covers us to the eternal.
We praise your love, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
Renew us, heal us, strengthen us, and set a fire of belief within us, this day and all that follow. Amen.
All is well. Alleluia!
