And From That Time He Sought Opportunity To Betray Him
“Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.” Matthew 26: 14-16
Jesus knew Judas would betray him. He shared this knowledge with his disciples during the Last Supper.
Soon, he would be handed over to his accusers, to those who would crucify him.
He didn’t stop what was to come; his task was at hand.
He would lay down his life for ours. He would pay our debt of sin. He would fulfill the holy scriptures.
God’s world would never be the same: ours was forever changed by Christ’s love.
Praise you, Lord Jesus!
All is well. Alleluia!
