A Light For Revelation To The Gentiles

“A light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:32

Jesus, the Lord’s Christ (Luke 2:26), is come!

Lord, your glory, your Son, our Savior, is our holy salvation, by the forgiveness of our sin and your promise of life everlasting.

Yet, as Simeon spoke to Mary upon seeing Jesus (Luke 2:34), “Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;”

Lord, we are all Simeon, rejoicing in our King’s birth, just as we are all Simeon in understanding the price Jesus paid for us.

Evil continues to speak against the kingdom, yet our faith is strengthened by the sheer glory of your gift, your Christ, Jesus.

May our lives fully reflect your offering to us as a fallen and sinful people. We bless your holy name Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
