Will You Lay Down Your Life For Me?
“Peter said to him, Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.” Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the cock will not crow, till you have denied me three times.” John 13:37–38
How intimately we know this failing; Peter’s pain is our pain.
Even like Peter, as we swear we will not, we have denied our Lord Christ Jesus openly and without hesitation, just as he did.
Simply: we are sinners in need of God’s grace and mercy.
Yet, by the Blood of Jesus, shed for the weight of all sin, for every denial of this world, we are redeemed. Amen.
Go forth this day, sanctified, made new for the eternal life to come.
