Joseph, Son Of David, Do Not Fear To Take Mary Your Wife
But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit;” Matthew 1:20
Joseph discovers Mary is pregnant and considers divorcing her. Then, through a dream an angel of the LORD speaks: do not fear.
His obedient faith in the face of incomprehensible uncertainty remains as a beacon to the faithful today. We will falter. We will question. We will face the depth of our faith.
Let us always pause in prayer before critical moments of choice. Let us seek God’s will upon us and have the courage to follow when the path is cloaked in the unknown, for we take comfort in knowing God has gone before us and prepared the way for his glory. Alleluia.
Father, we thank you for the servanthood of Joseph, now and forever.
Amen amen amen.
