And Lest I Should Be Exalted Above Measure
“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
God’s purpose, the strength and power of Christ, through his grace, is made perfect in suffering.
Our excruciating anguish, the infected wound that is this world, is known to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Let us take full protection under his wing; let us know a good work and a blessed way is being made for us; let us welcome the power of Christ resting upon us as we glory in our infirmities.
Fear not. Nothing stands between us and God. He is here and we are his.
All is well. Alleluia!
