Be It Unto Me According To Thy Word
“And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38
Mary was visited by an angel, foretelling of the conception of Jesus. She questioned the impossibility of her conception and knew what this could mean for her very life, the danger that might come.
Yet, she put aside any doubt or fear for herself, as she rested in her faith, and said, “Be it unto me according to thy word.”
How often our spirit is willing, yet our mind rebels. Fear, perceived discomfort, self-importance, anxiety of the unknow, all get in the way of saying to God: be it unto me according to thy word.
May we, this day and all that follow, step into the fullness of faith and say, “Be it unto me according to thy word.” May the fruit of the Spirit be upon us.
All is well, indeed. Alleluia!
